Montepulciano

The original from the Adriatic
This grape is actually not connected to the small town of Montepulciano. It is an indigenous grape variety of the Adriatic, more precisely Marche und Abruzzo.
Where it grows:
although the grape is also slowly spreading to southern Italy
What it tastes like:
robust
notes of dark cherry, plum and spices
firm tannin
What it goes with:
it has to be hearty! Montepulciano harmonises perfectly with sausages, bean dishes and stews
