Tenuta Tignanello

Marchesi Antinori
Barriquekeller der Tenuta Tignanello in der Toskana

The Antinori family’s Tignanello was the first ever Super Tuscan – making it a red wine icon!

A brave move: in 1971, in a world first, the Antinori family dared to add other grapes to the Sangiovese in barrique. As the first Italian wine to have a proportion of Cabernet and without the usual addition of white grapes, Tignanello was an immediate hit! Today it is seen as the father of all «Super Tuscans» and has long since achieved cult status. Solaia, launched in 1978, is another classic. Antinori only produces it in top years, which makes this red wine a coveted rarity.

The Marchesi Antinori are proud of their winery in the heart of Chianti classico. Small wonder, as the 319-hectare estate (of which around 130 hectares are planted) embodies the best of the philosophy of the Florentine winemaking dynasty: reconciling tradition and modernity to create authentic wines with all the character of their terroir.
