Developments for the cult wine Masseto! Since 2024, production director and Ornellaia producer Marco Balsimelli has been overseeing this cult wine alongside young oenologist Gaia Cinnirella.
Produced by a single vineyard in Bolgheri in the Maremma, this iconic wine was first created in 1986. Power and nobility are the hallmarks of this exceptional wine, but also warmth and smoothness – especially when it has been allowed to age for a couple of years. It is allowed to do just that, and in a state-of-the-art cellar, which was dug into the blue clay of the ground below the Masseto vineyard. The underground building meets the highest standards of innovative and ecological wine production, while its superb «Masseto Caveau» offers ideal conditions for this red jewel to mature.
