A grand total of 6,000 people live in Castrocaro Terme, the tranquil little village in Emilia-Romagna where I grew up. It’s quite a contrast to Winterthur, where I now work as managing director at Santa Lucia. And yet there is something that connects the village of my childhood with this restaurant: an absolute passion for Italian cuisine! This passion is what brought me to Bindella; in 2017 I started working as an office employee at Santa Lucia Corso in Zurich. It fills me with pride – and gratitude – to be given the responsibility of managing the restaurant after such a short time!

My ossobuco is my pride and joy. I prepare it with love, focus and the calm approach that characterises my cooking style.
My name is Otto, which is short for Otaniel, and I have been part of the Bindella family at Santa Lucia in Winterthur for eight years now. I started as sous-chef – today I am fulfilling my passion as chef de cuisine, day in and day out.
I learned Italian cooking at various ristoranti in Switzerland, but I did not perfect it until coming to Bindella. As an island kid, I love Mediterranean flavours and the scent of fresh herbs. I have found my home here at Bindella. And this is precisely the feeling that I wish to share with our guests, with every dish.
