Santa Lucia Paradeplatz
The first time we served pizza from a wood-fired oven at Santa Lucia on Zurich’s Limmatplatz was in 1965. This Italian speciality is also available in the same quality, and with the same crispiness, at the location on Paradeplatz, the world-famous banking square by Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.

I am Sicilian, but I was born in Brussels. I love foreign languages, which is why I actually wanted to become a teacher. In the end I decided to study hotel management. In the multicultural field of gastronomy, I am able to put my knowledge to use on a daily basis – I speak five languages fluently. I am glad that I opted to become a host rather than a teacher.

With 12 years of experience as chef de cuisine at Bindella, I am proud to say that I now belong to the Club dei Dieci! However, I just recently received my Swiss vocational diploma after passing the test with flying colours. My flair for Mediterranean dishes comes from the fact that I grew up in Ticino. But my parents, my blood and my name are from Pakistan. In my managerial position, it was important to me from the very start to motivate my team. After all, we are working together to achieve the same goal, day in and day out.
