Santa Lucia Limmatplatz
In 1965 Santa Lucia Limmatplatz opened as the first wood-fired pizzeria in Zurich. Back then, the Swiss regarded these Italian flatbreads as a rather «exotic» delicacy. But the price was right, the food was good and children were just as welcome as they would be in Italy. Today, cosy Santa Lucia in Zurich’s lively District 5 enjoys legendary status among people of all ages.

In 2004, I left Egypt to come to Switzerland – a move which has had a lasting influence on my life and career. I originally trained as a food inspector, but I later discovered my true passion in gastronomy. I have been part of the «famiglia» since 2012, with just some small interruptions.
What’s important to me? Team spirit. I am convinced that a motivated and dedicated team is the key to true hospitality. We want every guest to feel welcome here. They can expect genuine and attentive hospitality with a smile.

Ich bin eine motivierte und teamfähige Person mit grosser Freude an der italienischen Küche. Sorgfalt, Geduld und Liebe zum Detail habe ich von meinen Eltern und Grossmüttern gelernt – beim gemeinsamen Kochen, Abschmecken und Probieren. Diese Werte bringe ich auch in die tägliche Arbeit mit meinen KollegInnen ein.
Für mich bedeutet eine Lasagne nach lokalen Rezepten zuzubereiten, mit Respekt gegenüber der Tradition zu arbeiten und gleichzeitig als Team zusammenzuhalten. Am Ende entsteht das beste Ergebnis immer gemeinsam!
